Creating An Event That’s A Hit With Analysts

Creating An Event That’s A Hit With Analysts

THE SITUATION

Getting your chips inside nearly one-third of all mobile phones isn’t easy. Neither is getting the world to take notice. To build brand awareness and relationships in the U.S. and UK, MediaTek partnered with Racepoint Global in order to have a bigger part in the industry conversation and become a name brand on par with their major competitor. As part of a multi- faceted approach to strengthen MediaTek’s relationship with technology analysts, RPG developed an annual Analyst Day designed to deepen attendees’ understanding of MediaTek, the company’s leading solutions, and its vision for the future.

THE STRATEGY

To prepare for each Analyst Day, RPG used polling and feedback to determine how best to engage attendees — including MediaTek’s 2020 virtual analyst day, its 2021 hybrid event, and the company’s return to an in-person event in 2022.

Leveraging these results, RPG developed an event plan designed to give attendees the opportunity to hear directly from executives about MediaTek’s new and upcoming products, strong business results, and growth drivers. In order to facilitate meaningful and productive discussions, the plan encompassed main presentations, multiple 1:1 interviews, and breakout sessions. This allowed the analysts to concentrate on their topics of interest and connect more deeply with MediaTek executives and spokespeople.

THE SUCCESS

MediaTek hosted its 2022 Analyst Day at The Phoenician Hotel in Scottsdale, AZ. Twenty-four key analysts from 18 firms attended the event. After the main presentations, analysts participated in roundtable discussions on the key topic areas (business growth, mobile, AIoT, and connectivity), and each analyst also had the opportunity for a 1:1 discussion with an executive. A post-event survey highlighted the day’s success, with analysts noting that presentation content helped them build their knowledge about the industry and competitive landscape.
